The Jester runs the circus. He chose everyone's role in it, he sets the rules, he handles the public, and he is the one keeping Pierrot and Harlequin apart on the road. He refers to humans as "strays". In Day 2 he performs the puppet show that gives the player the legend of Columbina — a version of events the creator has since partly contradicted, which makes him a narrator you should not take at face value.

Personality
Calm and collected regardless of the situation, and openly describes himself as the dominant figure in the circus. He is charming with the public and knows how to turn a hostile encounter around; if he gets hurt in the process he does not mind, so long as the circus's image holds.
