The Freak Circus endings guide

The short version: there is one ending right now. The official itch.io page lists "1 Bad ending" under current features, names four more as planned, and states outright that the script is a work in progress and no endings are fully planned yet.

The Ticket Taker is the direct cause of the only ending in the game: he is the one who hands you the pink ticket. Official screenshot.

About the "8 endings" claim

You will see other sites claim eight or more endings, with names like True Ending and Secret Ending. Those counts usually come from treating the point where the build stops as an ending, or from nothing at all. We list only what the developer has said, and label the status of each.

Missing — Day 1 bad ending

In game

Reachable now

How you get it

Choose "do nothing" when Pierrot is being ridiculed by a man in the street on Day 1, and keep the pink ticket.

What happens

You go to work, receive a pink ticket from an unknown man with no option to refuse, and head to the circus after your shift. The Ticket Taker punches your ticket and escorts you straight to the pink tent, where it is dark and you are knocked out. You wake unable to move your arms or legs or speak. Each member of the circus rejects you in turn, until the Ticket Taker suggests devouring you instead. The screen goes black: "You failed to catch Pierrot's attention... and met a tragic end."

How you get it

No requirements exist yet, because the ending does not exist yet.

What happens

What happens

An ending centred on the protagonist rather than on either performer. Announced, not written.

All together — MC with both

How you get it

No requirements exist yet.

What happens

The fourth item on the official planned list: a route with the protagonist, Pierrot and Harlequin together.

Two Day 3 bad endings

Creator confirmed

In development

How you get it

Part of Day 3, which is unreleased.

What happens

The developer has referred to two further bad endings tied to Day 3. Their names have not been announced, so the placeholder titles you may see elsewhere are not official.

Things that are not endings

"The Day 2 open ending"

Creator confirmed

Not an ending

How you get it

Simply finishing Day 2.

What happens

Several sites count the point where the current build stops as one or more "open endings", which inflates the total to numbers like eight. It is not an ending. The itch.io page counts one bad ending, and states that the story continues for one more in-game day still in development. If you reached the end of Day 2 you did not miss anything.
