One. The official itch.io page lists "1 Bad ending" under current features, and that is the Day 1 Missing ending. Four more are named as planned — Pierrot's, Harlequin's, the protagonist's, and one with all three — but the same page says the script is still a work in progress and no endings are fully planned yet. Counts of eight or more usually come from treating the point where Day 2 stops as an ending.

No, and no release date has been announced. The itch.io page confirms the story continues for one more in-game day that is still in development. The developer's public activity in 2026 has been a revised Chinese translation in February and an official merch announcement in July, not a Day 3 build. We re-check the official sources and stamp this site with the date each time.

Is there a game called The Freak Circus 2?

Accepted Answer

No. The official release on itch.io is still titled The Freak Circus, and the developer's devlogs talk about Day 2, Day 3 and updates rather than a sequel. If you searched for "The Freak Circus 2", you almost certainly want the Day 2 content — which is out and playable — or news about Day 3, which is not.

What is the Red Ticket for?

Pierrot gives it to you on Day 2. The Ticket Taker tells you it means front-row seats in the red tent, which does not hold up — it is one of the small lies the game lets you catch. What actually matters about the tickets is the pink one: it marks humans so they become Fools or food once they enter the pink tent, and it is the item that leads to the game's only ending.

Who is the silent monster in the Jester's story?

Pierrot. The Jester's puppet show frames it as a love story between him and Columbina, with Harlequin as the jealous poison. Be careful with that framing: in an anniversary AMA the creator stated that Columbina and Pierrot were never romantically involved. The killing itself is not in doubt — Harlequin killed her and the troupe ate her — but the Jester is an unreliable narrator about why.

Can I romance Harlequin?

Not as a completed route, no. He is listed as a planned ending on the official page, and the scenes with him in Day 1 and Day 2 are real — but there is no route system, no affection meter on screen, and no ending at the end of it. You also cannot skip Pierrot: helping him in the street is the only way past Day 1.

How do I unlock the hidden scenes in Day 2?

Two are worth chasing. The black tent refuses you entry, but if you keep going back and trying, you unlock a cutscene — that is the most commonly missed content in the day. The other is typing "Columbina" into the name field at the start, which triggers a dedicated cutscene instead of the normal flow. Neither requires a specific route or a particular set of earlier choices.

How tall are the characters?

The Doctor is 207 cm, Pierrot 198 cm, the Jester 192 cm, Harlequin 187 cm, the Ticket Taker 183 cm and Columbina 180 cm. All of these come from the developer's AMA answers rather than from the game itself. Ages are a different matter: the developer has only ever given an order, never a number.

How old is Pierrot?

There is no confirmed number, and we are not going to make one up. What the developer has confirmed is the ranking: the Ticket Taker is the oldest, then the Doctor, then Pierrot, then the Jester, with Harlequin the youngest. His birthday is May 18. Any site quoting you a specific age for him is the only source for that figure.

Is the game free, and where do I play it?

It is name-your-own-price on itch.io, so you can play it for free or pay whatever you like. It runs in the browser via HTML5, and there are downloads for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. The developer has stated that the itch.io page is the only official page for the game and has asked people not to reupload it elsewhere — so play it there.

What languages is it available in?

Accepted Answer

English, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese. The Chinese translation is by copiklaGrogu with the developer's permission, and it was revised in February 2026 — that pass also fixed a Columbina line that was being cut off. The developer has said Russian, Spanish and Japanese have volunteers, but has not given a timeline.

Can I choose the protagonist's gender and pronouns?

Yes. Pronoun options were added in a June 2025 update. If you leave the name field blank the game fills in one of three canon defaults depending on your choice: Mestra, Mestre or Monarca. The Ticket Taker's Day 2 recap shows all three appearance variants — feminine with braided hair, masculine with spiky hair, and androgynous with short hair.

Is there a walkthrough for the Doctor's scene?

The cyan tent is a fixed sequence. There is no fail state, no choice that gets you out of it, and nothing to unlock by playing it differently — so there is nothing to walk you through. What it is worth doing is reading rather than skipping: it is one of the clearest statements in the build that the troupe regard humans as material.

What happened to Carol?

She was the protagonist's café co-worker. She stopped coming to work and the Boss assumed she had run away. On Day 2 you meet her at the circus as a Fool — masked, mind-controlled, cheerfully telling you not to miss the attractions. Her mask carries the Ticket Taker's melting-eye face paint, and the Fools' masks reflect whoever chose them.

Is there official merch?

Accepted Answer

Yes, since July 14, 2026. That devlog announced a limited-run Pierrot plush through GimmeSwag with orders closing July 30, and an ongoing partnership with the studio 春醴记工作室 for official goods. Anything sold as official before that date was not, and the plush was a limited run the developer said has no projection to come back.

Is there an affection or route meter I should be managing?

Accepted Answer

Nothing in the shipped build displays one, and the developer has never published thresholds. Guides that give exact affection numbers and route-lock points are describing a system nobody has shown to exist. What is true is simpler: your choices change which scenes and reactions you see, and there is currently no route lock, so one playthrough can see almost everything.
